The nice thing about after burner is that it gave birth to the g-lock arcade version which was pretty fun.... To be honest the feeling of been in a machine that allows you to turn 360 degree was fun and innovative... But still, let\'s face it: it sucked big time and still does after 20 year. Nice try anyway.

Good conversion by NEC Avenue. They did a good job by porting the SEGA 3D-games like Outrun and Space Harrier to the PCE. Their 3D engine is quite good considering the capability of the PCE. But IMHO the gameplay of Afterburner is not on par with Outrun, but way better than Space Harrier. So this game only gets an 3.5

Great for a quick blast anytime- except for that awful stage with the rock pillars.
