RE: NEC-HE-shrine EBAY LOST MIND

From Paul England <xxxxxx@mail.utexas.edu>

Yes, I know. ONe guy that I know from other messages boards (Yahoo Clubs)
has been killing on my Turbo auctions. He took a Star Parodia for $31!!! Of
course I'll follow through, even though that's about half of it's value.
I don't know if any of you remember the
blazing lazers that went for $207. but for
all the people who make a killing on ebay,
there are lots of people who will follow through
on an auction even if the closing bid is
  ridiculously low. God bless them...

I know...I saw that also. Who in the hell would pay that much for
Dracula X?
It has to be some sort of illness. It's a travesty that people pay
$100-200
for the game when there are a ton of copies out there to be had. If
only I
had known when I bought my copy back in 1993, I would've plunged for a
couple
more. I know a guy who keeps his copy in a safe. That's ridiculous
only
because he doesn't play it. I bet if I broke the shrinkwrap, he'd start
crying. I'm a pretty heavy-duty game collector, but there is nothing I
have
which is still shrinked...I play ALL of my games. That's why I started
doing
all of this in the first place...because I enjoy gaming. For awhile on
eBay,
you could see amazing amounts for both Gale Racer and Groove on Fight
for
Saturn. Gee...both games suck...hard. When I was living in Korea, you
could
find both not only NOT SELLING in massive quantities, but also sent to
the
comparable of a bargain bin. Man, I could've picked up copies of both
for
cheap, saved them, and killed on eBay. Still, in defensive of the
weirdos
who'd rather have shrinkwrapped games rather than actually playing them,
I
can totally symphathize with leaving your copies of Strider Hiryu for
PCE
completely sealed...forever. After I played it the first time back in
1994,
I wished I could have sent it back to NEC Avenue. But, remember, on
eBay,
Strider PCE is "a great conversion," "better than the Genesis or arcade
game," "ultra rare," and "a hentai masterpiece."
