Hey, Steve! While this list won't be perfect...I'm not the biggest
PlayStation fan in the free world...it's pretty complete. Others can make
corrections as they see fit. As far as recommendations, I highly recommend
Akumajo Dracula X, Gradius Gaiden, the Namco Museum series, any of the Konami
deluxe packs,
Super Pang Collection, R-Types, and Capcom Generation Volumes 2, 4, and 5.
GMF released the Legend of Heroes series on three CDs, the first containing
I&II, the second having III, and the third having IV. Good stuff if you like
the series, although it is a little dated. For some reason, I like Naxat's
1943 Kai over the version contained on Capcom Gen 1...same goes for Hudson's
conversion of Cotton versus Success' Cotton Original on PSX.
Games which are on both systems:
1943 Kai
Arunama No Kiba
Cotton
Daimakaimura
Detana! Twinbee
Dragon Saber
Dragon Slayer: The Legend of Heroes
Dragon Slayer: The Legend of Heroes II
Dragon Spirit
Genpei Toramaden
Gradius
Gradius II
Image Fight
Kyuukyoku Tiger
Langrisser
Lemmings
Linda Cube
Lode Runner
Ordyne
Pac-Land
Parodius
Pomping World
Puyo Puyo CD Tsu
Raiden
Rainbow Islands
R-Type
Snatcher
Space Invaders
Street Fighter II Champion Edition
Tower of Druaga
Valkyrie No Densetsu
Wonder Momo
The following series carried over to PlayStation (and other systems):
Advanced V.G.
Akumajo Dracula X
Asuka 120%
Bomberman (really...none worth playing, even the last one released, which was
old school 2D)
Choaniki
Darius
Doukyuusei
Dragon Knight
Dragon Ball Z
Fire Pro Wrestling
Galaga (the original is contained in the Namco Museum series)
Galaxy Fraulien Yuna
John Madden Football
Mad Stalker (a fighting game not the action game...although you may read that
it's the same game)
Momotaro Densetsu
Nectaris
Shin Megami Tensei
Tenchi O Kurau
The following series may have also been on PlayStation, but, like I said, I'm
no expert:
J.B. Harold (not sure exactly what systems Blue Chicago Blues went to)
Koei strategy games (appeared on both systems, but I don't like them, so I
don't know which is which)
Master of Monsters
Might and Magic
Princess Maker
Schwartzchild
Super Real Mahjong (I know it went to Saturn, unsure about PSX)
Wizardry
Grant Windsor
