NEC-HE-shrine Copies! A Dilemma! MUST READ for all!! Please.
So, I think we allneed to agree and swear on our mothers names thatwe will not post this on DEFINTIELY any auction site, or anyother BBS's. This may be a bit to read, but please read on. Personally, I would never copy this game for profit. If is not my motive. However, I ALREADY have several people not on the list who have heard of "rumors" and wanted to know how much a copy is to buy... As in WAREZ copies... :-( That is why I think we should have a cut off date, and then take the whole thing private. Perhaps a non listed forum to be created. (TABO?) As CD-ROM is NOT a secure format, perhaps it is naive to think that a copy would NEVER get into circulation, and be sold like sapphire is..... $20 a burn. We have two choices really: RELEASE PUBLICLY TO ALL So that all can get it, and it's not sold as a pirate CDR. (Would you have someone in italy pay $400+ for it, like we may have to?) RELEASE TO A FEW Be elitist, and eventually have it get out to pirates, who will sell it at profit, like sapphire..... I think we need to be frank. We are buying a PIRATE copy from a Japanese CDR dealer. Or a STOLEN real copy. Either way, we have passed beyond the legal issue, and we have to deal with our hang-ups about it being in General circulation. Lets face it, if it was a legal deal all along, every copy would have been destroyed. Someone along the way wanted this game to GET OUT. So, lets get our copy, and then publicly release it, and SHUT THE PIRATES DOWN. Before they have a chance. There is no loss of profit here, as the game was never released. NEC has long written off the losses in making the game.
