Okay, I'm usually a full-disclosure guy, but for the meantime, there
are things within this deal I need to keep quiet until it's
attained. You know how the internet can be.
At any rate, one of the guys DOES NOT own a CDR -- he was going to
sell his only copy. I told him I'd give him 20,000 just to come to
my house and let me burn it. I assume he lives in Tokyo, as most
people in Japan do. :) The way I met him and who he actually is, is
actually a story to go down in the books, and nobody will ever
believe it. Sorry to keep you in suspense, but we need to get this
deal done with. Once it's done, I'll make a long, entertaining post.
He did seem a bit worried that I was just going to pirate it, and
whoever said it was right -- his "image" of foreigners isn't so hot.
He did admit I'm the first foreigner he's ever talked to though. If
anything else, I think we need to agree on one thing -- this needs to
circulate outside of Japan. Let me do all the copies for Japan, and
I'm sure I can get other goodies. I know it's a bit assholish of a
thing to do, but Adol, can you NOT give a copy to your connections
here for at least a few months? That will cut off any traces to me
and keep my relations w/ these guys I'm dealing with quite good.
One of the guys I've found is very straight-to-the-point, although it
took him 2 days to reply to my email. I found him on a BBS, and to
be honest, was QUITE an ingenious plan of mine, if not my best.
Found a turbo site, where the guy had just attained a copy. Emailed
him, but no response.
Looked on his BBS, and ran a search on the ABBREVIATION of Space
Fantasy Zone, it came up, and I found out where he got it from.
Emailed that guy and valla, he replied.
Asked how much I wanted to buy one for. That's where we are now.
I asked him if he'd consider 20,000 yen.
Man, if something shitty happens now, we might as well give up.
