You know, I almost got into one fight here in Hawaii for the same
reason...small-man's complex. This dude was local, about 5 feet 1, and all
mouth. I told him to bring it on...and he continued his eloquent mouth
work...walked away pissed off...saying that it wasn't worth it. Eh? Yeah,
right...whatever. On the stupid side, one time I saw a military jarhead
(i.e. big square head, no brain, false idea that you are badass) messing with
a huge Samoan...who he summarily pissed the fuck off. When I drove off, the
Samoan was walking in circles around the guy, yelling at him, and prodding
him. The dork was doing that standard "smiling while sweating and shaking"
maneuver. I imagine that after I left he became one with the pavement. That
is a bad case of "small-man's complex." After having living here awhile, one
that is not advised, especially being fair-skinned like he was. Guess if
would be the same thing sorta, Paul, if you went up and picked a fight with a
Sumo.
