No , the misunderstanding is this:
I am searching for an easy solution to backup.
We all know the problems or lengths of time it takes
with gear, etc. Nero is far from perfect. Mixed sessions and all.
Of course, as far as drives go, some are excellent, some are poor.
My results:
All depend on the CDR drive you have, best choice:
Raw data capable drive, TDK VeloCd, * avoid Ricoh.
TDK VeloCD does Audio rip at 20x. Firmware flashable.
4mb buffer.
Programs:
Nero:Yes/no depends or expertise. Personally I have never had any luck,
and a mini faq would seem necessary for Nero.Info that this works is
second hand.
Works best for PSX or Saturn
CDRwin: Unknown
Adaptec:Yes/No, Again, picky like Nero.Info that this works is second
hand.
Won't do PSX without tweaking. Saturn discs seem to backup on ANY
software.
Best: FLAWLESS** One click image and record.
Gear: Problematic interface, few drives supported..2nd best choice. Has
been
known to kill systems though!
CD Clone: Tiny program, avoids aspi altogether, does a straight
image to the HD, regardless of the CD type. As PCE games have no
data in the audio stream, it does perfect copies every time.
It can copy any CD , despite format. Pippin, FM marty, or
Amiga CD32 works fine, just consider the data subchannel in the audio
on newer software.

Registered, it burns a PCE game in under 8 minutes, with full
CD audio.650MB (Using the VeloCD)
Games without audio, like Dead of the Brain are MUCH faster.
Example: Saturn, I backed up my cotton2. Cotton 2 is ONLY 53 megs.
Less than 1 min burns.
The shareware burns at 1x :-( [60mins.]

Eventually I'll throw a FAQ up somewhere.
