[NEC_Avenue] Arcade card emulation??
I'm going to build a MAME Cabinet (arcade cabinet with PC inside). The cabinet will have a DVD drive, so I plan on playing turbo CD games on it. I'm curious as to whether or not any turbo emulators can emulate the arcade card yet. I'd love to be able to play some of my ACD games on the cabinet as well. At first I was afraid it would take a lot of room. But if you think about it, it will probably save space. It's a TV, DVD/VCD Player, MP3 Jukebox, Turbo Grafx, Genesis, SNES, NES, and whatever the hell else i want it to be (i might even put MAME in it). Also i plan to but a AV selector thing on the side, so i can connect multiple external AV sources like my Saturn or Dreamcast to the cabinet's TV. If the project is completed, my dreams of playing Gates of Thunder, or Blazing Lazers STANDING UP will be realized. If anybody is interested, the specs will be something like this: Computer: P3-500Mhz (probably going to overclock it to 600-650) 192MB RAM (might go to 256, because RAM is so cheap these days) nVidia TNT2 graphics card (it has TV out) 20GB Samsung hard drive (it's only $60, but i'm not sure if samsung make good hard drives) Some emulator friendly sound card (any suggestions would be appreciated) Sigma Designs Hollywood+ MPEG 2 Decoder board Screen 20 inch Toshiba Television (arcade monitors scare me) Sound 2 - 12" Peerless woofers (made in Denmark, yanked from my bass guitar cabinet) 2 - Acoustic Research Powered Partner 570s (super awesome mega PC speakers, cost my former employer $400 for the pair, thank god he liked me) need some type of amp for the woofers. Controls Arcade joystick/buttons connected to an iPac board. Cabinet Either going to build it, with the help of a carpenter's son friend of mine, Or buy one if i can find a good price. Worst case scenario, I pay the laundromat a little visit one night and relieve them of that non functioning Ms. Pacman machine. I apologize for all the parantheses. If anybody knows of an emulator that runs ACD games, or can suggest an emulator friendly sound card, I'd appreciate it. If and when i finish this, I'd be glad to challenge any turbo fans in the Los Angeles/San Fernando area to a game of Puyo Puyo or Panic Bomber. -Pedrum p.s. I'm also looking for a woman's name to give the cabinet. --------------5D5AA7FD1EFA71EC30140956 Content-Type: text/html; charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit <!doctype html public "-//w3c//dtd html 4.0 transitional//en"> <html> I'm going to build a MAME Cabinet (arcade cabinet with PC inside). <p>The cabinet will have a DVD drive, so I plan on playing turbo CD games <br>on it.
