> Of those 278 do you have Metal Stoker?
Yup...however, Face wasn't exactly the premier developer out there, were
they? So...I guess I'd really be inclined not to recommend it. The whole
vertical tank thing has been done better on various platforms: Wolf Team's
Granada on Mega Drive, Success' Guardian Force on Saturn, and the archaic-yet
still fun arcade game Assault from Namco (which you can find on Namco Museum
Vol. 4) to name a few that come to mind right away. Still, though, if you
are solely PC Engine-centric, you could do worse and there isn't an abundance
of tank action games on the system. Myself, I find the aforementioned
Granada to be the tops and arguably the best game which Wolf Team put out
during their highly prolific period back in the early 90s. Certainly, as
shooters go, it smacked their Mega CD game Sol-Feace around silly. I found
it extremely amusing that Sega packed that in the initial release of the Sega
CD here in the states...I suppose to combat NEC's pack-in of Gate of Thunder
with the Duo at the time. Did anyone ever notice that Gate was 10 times
better? Not certain of where they were in their development cycle at the
time, but Sega would have been better off acquiring either Compile's Dennin
Aleste (Robo Aleste) or Human's Bari-Arm (Android Assault) if they really
wished to approach equality (still would have come up short in my opinion).
Actually, Sega did eventually bring over Bari-Arm, so maybe "too little, too
late" applies.
