I lived in Korea in the mid to late 90s...and it was. There was an arcade down the street from me which had an entire floor dedicated to shooters. Everything from Sengoku Blade to Gokujyo Parodius to Soukyugurentai...and the original Sengoku Ace game. An interesting point, in the corner of the top floor where the shooters were were almost every Bubble Bobble game ever created, including the glorious Bubble Symphony. The first floor was entirely fighters.
