Sorcerian is an acquired taste. You have to really love old Falcom
games to enjoy it. Apparently there are still some big fans though,
because Falcom released Sorcerian Original and Sorcerian Forever on
windows relatively recently.

Oh yeah. I forgot. There is a remake of DS on Falcom Classics 1. My
bad. I need to take that game out and try it one of these days.

I can't tell you for sure, but in my experience most Japanese windows
games do work on American windows. You may need the limited optional
Japanese text support on XE, or you might need to use NJ star. There
is also a chance that it won't work at all, unfortunately.

It's on a CD. It's not that old really, it was released in 1999.
Here's a page with some info on that game:

Yeah, that's probably correct. It just complicates things even
further though.
Someone had mentioned Faxanadu earlier? I've heard that Faxanadu was
originally scheduled to be a Famicom version of Xanadu. The "Fa" is
from the first two letters of "Famicom". In the end, they decided to
make an entirely new completely different game instead.
