The thing is, that HONEY in kata/hira would be written in the same 
way which is why I'm unsure.

Oops, it's been a while since I saw it so I forgot. But maybe this 
is significant as words of English origin usually are written in 
katakana. I looked up HANI in my Japanese dictionary and it can mean 
a sphere, or circle. I wonder if this is playing on the fact that 
you rotate your arms to fire in a circle in Hani in the Sky? But 
saying that, the whole title in hiragana when it wouldn't usually 
be. Does anyone know the significance of the main character - is it 
some ancient Japanese thing like a Dogu? I've seen the golden 
phallic character in other games...
