The End of the US Duo

Many people assumed that Dracula X was coming to the US but Konami Japan
would not license any of their titles out. Basically, if they did not
release, no one else could. This is the same thing that happened to
SFIICE. TTI did not get any support from the Japanese companies. The 
selection of titles they were allowed to port from Japan was
pathetically small, thus killing off any chance they had of retaking
the market. 

Before all these big titles like Macross 2036 were going to be
released, Hudson and NEC pulled the plug on TTI's funding. However, the US
version of Macross 2036, Robotech 2036 with English dubbing does in fact
exist. The guys at TZD have one since some of their staff came from TTI
and I believe 1 or 2 of the "pro" mags have copies as well.

Regarding Mortal Kombat on the US Duo, Acclaim originally approached a
person at NEC US about porting MK1 to the platform but the moron at NEC
rejected the idea thinking it wouln't sell. Yes, they got rid of him.
