It's a difficult call. I can't say that I play Bonk 3 a lot, but it is the
only Bonk game I have sat through and played to the end more then once.
Mostly because my roommate prompted me to play in 2 player. I did own both
the SCD version and HuCard version, and in the end, I stuck with the HuCard
version. [The 2player bonus games weren't all that exciting, the
soundtrack was nothing to write home about either... I guess the missing
animation frames and graphics wouldn't have bothered me as much if I hadn't
seen the HuCard version first.]
If you get the chance to pick up Bonk3 for a reasonable price, then I'd say
go for it. However, the actual game isn't all that much more exciting, but
the 2Player mode at least gives you the chance to play along with a friend.
:)
As for Blazing Laser's power up system. I don't find it too strange, I've
seen quite a few shooters that use the same power up scheme. :)
