Greetings and salutations. My name is Shidoshi, and I'm once again a part
of this fun little list. I was subscribed before about, oh, five or so
years ago, so it's been a while for me. ^_^ Quick little intro to me, I own
two TurboGrafix-16s (no idea why I have two), a TurboCD, a TurboDuo,
multi-taps and full compliment of controllers for both, and a whole slew of
games that was greatly boosted when the local used game shop sold me every
Turbo game they had, CD or card, for $.35 each a number of years ago. I've
always considered the Duo one of my favorite systems, and when I decided to
get it out and get it active again a few weeks ago my love for it was
re-ignited. And yes, in case any of you are going to ask, I'm the same
Shidoshi who is currently a writer for GameFan.
Now, a few questions. First, is it still possible to get a Duo-R? I mean, I
know it's POSSIBLE, but it is possible without flying to Japan or paying a
couple hundred dollars? ^_^ I really want one just because they're so damn
cute ... yes, I'm a freak. As a sub-question to that, same goes for the
original white PC Engine. I want a Duo-R more, but either would be nice to
have just for the coolness of them. Or, hell, a SuperGrafix. Okay, okay,
I'll stop now.
Second, anyone in here have any experience with Valis 1? I got the chance
to play it the other day (I loved the Genesis version, but was blown away
to see just how much better the PCE version was), but I couldn't kill the
end boss Rogles for the life of me. I had half a chance the first time I
got to him, but after dying and having to fight him with no power-ups at
all, it seemed damn near impossible. Anyone have any hits to beating him
sans power-ups, or is it a case of simply having to survive with a nice
stockpile and beating him on your first shot?
Finally, if anyone out there has games they are trying to sell off, here's
a new list member to try to sell your wares to. ^_^ I'm mostly looking for
cool import games (esp. River City Ransom) or an Arcade Card, but let me
know about anything you've got if you're trying to sell something.
