"Overseas" makers of Japanese games

With my family recovering from a nasty flu, I have only been able to take a
few glances at PC-Engine stuff this past week. So I flipped through a
bunch of old Japanese PC-Engine related magazines.

I found a strange article about "Faceball".
Surprise, the game was written in Canada !
The article shows some Vancouver landmarks, and talks a bit about Canada.

The programmer, "Gary" (the Canadian, but no surname is given) was 20 in
1993 when the article was written. He may also have written the Amiga
version of "Faceball" which the PCE version was based on. If so, he's
probably either rich or upset with the world (because of the "Doom"/"Quake"
phenomenon).

It'd be interesting to see how many other "overseas" games were written,
and how many devkits were actually in use (and if any are available).

Anyway, anybody in the Vancouver area, the companies involved in the whole
Faceball thing were: BPS Inc, Xanth Software, and Riverhill Soft. Xanth
appears to have been the key to the PCE version. (BPS was probably the
originator, and Riverhill was PCE distribution).

It would sure be interesting to talk to a genuine "original" PCE developer...
