I agree wholeheartedly. I was having such a good time here in Japan,
both inside Tokyo and out, that I've extended my stay here through
this Sunday (though that may change given the typhoon that's headed
this way!)
Head to Akiba once or twice, buy what you're interested in, then go
visit Shibuya, Shinjuku, Ginza, Ueno and Harajuku at least within Tokyo.
Take a trip to Nikko and see the temples and greenery there. Visit
Chiba and go skiing inside the world's largest refrigerated building
in the middle of summer. Get a JR pass and head out to Kyoto/Osaka,
or even Hiroshima (to visit Charles, who I did not get to visit
while here, _gomennasai_) for "free." Go check out the onsen (hot
springs) in Hakone, or hike up Mt. Fuji. And, best of all, discover
some local friends and get a true initiation into Japanese culture.
It's not all about games in life.......though they certainly help. :)
