Monster Maker 2 was not released on PC Engine, and, honestly, I'm not even
sure if the thing was even started in development. NEC Avenue never seemed
to adhere to any logical development time schedule. I've recently learned
that Madou Monogatari II and II were also announced at one time or
another...and the same applies to them. Madou I was released in 1996,
seemingly a little late for two follow-ups. Also not released was Monster
Maker: Holy Dagger for Saturn from NEC Interchannel. I'm curious how
finished the project was because it kept dragging on and on, even showing on
some release lists after the death of the Saturn. Also on the Saturn scrap
heap was Dragon Knight IV, which ended up being released only on PC-FX and
PlayStation. I was looking forward especially to Holy Dagger because it
reportedly had the cinemas running in high resolution...and because I, too,
liked the Engine game. It seems that, for the most part, only the series I
don't want to have sequels ever get them. Then again, maybe the stuff I like
doesn't have mass market appeal. Oh, well.
