I haven't read the article, but what were they comparing it to?  It
bothers me that game mags and web sites think high popularity (mainstream)
= best technology.

PCE has much better hardware than Famicon and IMO think that MD was
technically better than PCE.  And so on and so on.  Therefore all game
systems older than the latest game machine have "lackluster hardware". :/

I think everyone will agree that it's the games that make the system.  But
now it seems that it's the number of texture-mapped-trilinear-filtered-
volumetric-lighted-environment-mapped-refected-polygons-per-second that
makes the best system and has the best games.  How sad indeed.

Sorry for my rant, but sometimes things like this just need to be said.
