Strider and Sapphire: and why I'm a happy man:

Hi guys, well yesterday for the 1st time after ages and ages of wishing and
hoping I finally got, in the mail, these two games which I must say, I got
for a reasonably unreasonable price.

Anyway, I have this to say. Whenever games have been hyped up for the Duo,
I've always been just a little disappointed when I played them.

When playing the overhyped Lords of Thunder after Gate of Thunder, I was
like, "what's the big deal?"
Then, when I finally got my hands on dracula X, I was dis-appointed beyond
belief. I guess I was expecting so much more.

HOWEVER, when I put in Saphhire, and played through it (yes in an hour or
so:), I was AMAZED! I mean WOW! The game really is a bit pricey, but....HOW
DO THEY DO THAT ON THE TURBO?!?!?! I mean! wow! I had not even the slightest
idea of just exactly how good the graphics on this game are. I'm stunned, I
mean, now I finally have something to show off to my friends and say, "this
is that 16bit system I was telling you about" without them gaulking at me
when I show them the games. WOW!

hehe I also want to say that a lot of people have told me during my long
involved quest to find Strider ACD that the genesis version is better. But
I'd have to strongly dis-agree. I mean, the PCE version is lacking some
parallax scrolling, but otherwise the cinema's and music are so well done
that I can think of only one word to describe it: SMOKIN'!!!!! (which are
the exact words Nick R. used describing it so many years ago when it came
out:). So I for one, would like to say that I reccomend this game. I know
the genny version was supposed to be better, but frankly I got bored before
I ever got around to finishing it, whereas I'm still immersed in the PCE
one.

Anyway, thanks for listening to this happy camper you guys. Take Care!
