re: Recollection stories

I got started when the Turbo dropped to $69.
Up to that point, I had been a Sega Master System enthuisiast, and was
going to get a Genesis (which at that point was down to $99 for a Core
system). I went to Toys R Us, and was looking at the Genesis, when I
saw
the Turbo Grafx. Being the cheap bastard that I am, I decided $99 for a
system and 2 games was better than $99 for a system with no games. I
had
read about Bonk and Legendary Axe in Video Games and Computer
Entertainment, so it's not like I didn't know jack about the system.
What really sealed the deal for me was when I saw Fighting Street. I
instantly recognized it as being Street Fighter, and snatched it up
with
great glee...though that glee would not last long.
As I was cashing out, the clerk (a girl no less) said, "You know you
need the CD player to play this game (Fighting Street) right?
My world exploded, there was no way I could afford the CD player (even
though I think it was down to $150 at that time).
So I went back and chose Victory Run instead.
I can't stand that game now, but I played the heck out of it back then
(and of course Keith as well).
I gathered up a collection of about 20 games, and then the Super
 Nintendo came out.
After paying $189.99 for that, I had no money left, so I took my Turbo
and games to a local game shop (HO/RC Hobbies for all you Rochesterians
out there), and the jerk there gave me a whole $60 for everything I
had.
It was enough to get Raiden Trad. Ah the stupidity of youth.....
 Since then I've bought and sold 6 Turbo Grafx's, 2 Turbo CD's, 5 Turbo
Duo's, 2 PC Engine Duo's, and 1 Duo RX. But never once have I bought a
Turbo Express...I just can't get into that tiny screen.
And the first time I ever came across a Super System Card was two weeks
ago, when I received Tubo CD #2, which was only supposed to have the
 base 2.0 card.
