Yes.
The 2.0 card came with the TG+CD, and the 3.0 card was available as an
add-on (although they are less common than the CDROM drive itself).  The
3.0 system card was built into the Duo.

The 1.0 card was only available in Japan, does not have a CD+G player, and
is the only card which can successfully play Altered Beast CD (Japanese)
without halting the gameplay.

Neither the 1.0 nor the 2.0 cards can play Super CD's - you will need
either a System 3.0 card, or a Duo (which has the 3.0 card built in).
