Nope...no Enix on PC Engine. They were a bit smaller operation back then and
exclusive to Nintendo. Later, they gave a half-hearted up-front attempt at
Nintendo 64 development, with the same on Saturn...before conclusively
resting on PlayStation with Sony. If you ask the average joe who claims to
be an expert on all that is gaming which publishers are the most important,
you'd probably hear silliness like Treasure...while overlooking Enix. Given
that Dragon Quest VII, which would seem to be on dated hardware with an even
more dated look, is the biggest selling game in Japan ever, their importance
to a console cannot be understated. If they were to defect from Sony's camp
(not likely) to another console, it would cause a major console shakeup in
Japan. To Enix's credit, though, I cannot hold them highly enough for the
exposure which they gave to Quintet during the Super Famicom days, who, in
turn, graced us with superb titles like ActRaiser, Soul Blazer, Illusion of
Gaia, and Tenchi Sozo.
