The mini DIN are pretty much standard but not as easy to find (ie not
found at Radio Shack) so you may have to hunt down through a mail order
catalog. I'd recommend Allied Electronics and Mouser Electronics as a
good source of cheap electronic parts.
Now for the Macintosh cable, there is actually a few different type of
cabl;es that uses mini DIN. The ADB and Appletalk cable (old style, not
Phonenet variety) are not the right kind as they have 4 and 3 pins
respectively. What you want is a Macintosh serial cable. An extension
cable will have one male plug and one female plug so it could be used as
extension for Turbo Duo controllers, while standard cable has male plug
at both end. If you happened to find a cable with 9 pins Geoport style
rather than the usual 8 pins, just use a small needle nosed pliers and
yank out the 9th pin.
