Part of the problem I have noticed...
No real distributors carry the games. For me to bring them into my
store, I would have to buy them and mark them up even higher. Also...I
thought I had read reviews on the two games, and they just got average
reviews, nothing spectacular.
I do have MANY people asking about games coming out for the older
systems...but one would assume to pick a better system to start with.
The people I have talked to in my store have given up on Sega CD, and
just buy the cheaper games. If they were thinking "make money and
produce more games" then why not have done a TG 16 CD game or Saturn
game?
I sell a lot of TG16 games, and Saturn games still.
I wouldn't mind stocking the Sega CD games in my store as a
novelty...after all, the last few Jaguar releases bring in $50 - $70
per title.
This is the same issue we are currently having with producing new TG
Games. One of my customers worked at Konami, and has a bunch of
prototypes, half-completed games, and some almost completed games. But
with production costs on a short run, and to cover costs, the game
would have to cost at least $30 if not more. How many games would we
sell, how long till we see some profit, and could we afford to release
another title.
I am hoping for the best for everyone, I love seeing new games come out
for older platforms.
