Talking of R-Type, has anyone ever finished R-Type II on the
PC Engine? (i.e. levels 5-8).
the first 4 on R-Type was relatively easy but the last 4 were much harder.
I just managed to get to level 6 back then but gave up on it.
As for the arcade version of R-Type II again gave up at level 4 or so.
I guess I wasn't being patient enough to find sequences of attacks and
boss movements. (Still the hardest game I've ever played for a shooter has
to be ProGear by Cave/Capcom but that's something else)
Side arms.. hmmm. I love that game. I even went and bought a replacement
in HK when I lost that hucard on the streets. Only cos I played the arcade
version alot and loved it too much. It was the only way that I can finish
the game without putting in too many $$$.
(Before that I tried it on the Amstrad CPC464 8 bit computers and the
graphics sucked badly and almost had a heart attack when I heard the PC
Engine had that port.)
For $15 I guess it's worth a try, after all how often do you see pc engine
games go for under 10 pounds nowadays?
