I actually think there's a good chance that a MK exclusive on the Duo
would've saved the system. There have been games before that alone have
moved hardware (Street Fighter 2 for the SNES comes to mind) and back in
its day MK was hugely popular. Both the SNES and Genesis incarnations of
MK1 sold extremely well, and I'm sure the MK enthusiasts of the time
would've shelled out for a Duo just to play MK1 in the comfort of their own
homes. It's a shame we'll never truly know what would've happened, but it's
fun speculating nonetheless. :)
