Re: Chip music.

Hey, I'm always glad to discuss this topic!

Because of the great .HES ripped format, I've been listening to Turbo/PCE
music more and more.

Of course, I love the music from Legendary Axe II and Neutopia series SOOO
much that I recorded them onto CD... :-)

I've been really digging the music from After Burner and Mesopotamia
recently... After Burner's two long songs really kick ass! Mesopotamia
has a great burning energy to it. Of course... Magical Chase is also great
in this respect. It's one of the few Japanese-composed soundtracks that
uses arpeggios!

I agree with the comment about Dragon Spirit. I really like that music.
It's cool that that game has a sound test mode which plays all the songs in
a timed sequence. The song "Volcano" is my favourite here.

About Taito music..... I don't really like much of it. Taito seems always
to make NES-quality music on the PC-Engine. Take a listen to New Zealand
Story and Cadash. :-P

Kyuukyoku Tiger and Tatsujin are both pretty good. They use similar
instrumentation to Legendary Axe II / Dungeon Explorer... and I just love
the sound of these two.

Hmmm... Aoi Blink has some nice easy-listening tunes to it, and what little
music Galaga '90 has, it's really cool.

Um, and finally.. and oldie but a goodie: Super Star Soldier has some good
tunes.

E-mail me if you would like some WinAmp playlists for some of the
above-mentioned songs. Bye for now, all.
