The four characters in that Far East of Eden Kabuki Den 'Disneyland' area
were a mouse, a duck, an elephant, and a fairy.

Hasn't Disney bought up the international rights to some of the best anime
and just sat on them? I know they've got Miyazaki's Nausicaa. I've heard
they're going to release an altered version of Laputa: Castle in the Sky.

Check it out: Most of Miyazaki's stuff is well-suited for children. Disney
owns the international rights to a lot of it. Which film do they end up
showing to America? Princes Mononoke, his bloodiest and most adult film
ever. That sounds like trying to manipulate his image to me. I'll bet many
people went to see Princess Mononoke in the theater, having never seen
Japanese anime. Seeing an animated film with so much violence probably
soured their opinion of anime in general. Now Disney can decide to never
release another Miyazaki film again, citing lack of consumer interest. All
they have to do is re-release one of their 'classics' every freaking season
'for a limited time' in 'collector's edition', and continue raking in the
cash. And nobody will have to worry about good old American pride being
threatened.

Ever seen the movie Dogma? If you've any similar distaste for Disney, or
corporate bloodsuckery in general, there's a great scene in there for you...
