I don't know if Hodos ever ripped anyone off; however, I personally had one
problem with him. I had made a deal with him to buy a certain game off of
eBay, and I thought the deal was stone. However, someone else made him an
offer for a higher price...after I made that deal with him for the lower
price...and he went and sold it to the other guy (luckily before I had
dispatched the money order to him...I found out just before I put the thing
in the post). The ensuing e-mail chain between him and I was hilarious...he
was so full of it. That goes to show you what kind of integrity the guy has.
Afterwards, I just went ahead and bought the game from someone else and
never dealt with him again. Every now and then, you'll find somewhat decent
prices with him...however, for the most part, his stuff has historically been
overpriced. Also, from time to time, his item conditions don't jive exactly
with the condition of the items themselves. However, he is famous for using
stuff like "Item is in gnarly condition" and the like (well...I may have made
that one up) without stating exactly what the condition (read: vague wording)
is and not really elaborating on it if you send him an e-mail. In the end,
you'd be better off going through guys like Matt Boehland or Paul
England...honest guys who stand behind what they sell and are willing to work
with you if the item isn't exactly what you purchased. 'Nuff said.
