Hi everyone,
SOrry for the multiple postings....I've been experimenting a bit.
I tried wiping the lens down with distilled water on a Q-tip, to no
avail....Next I tried isopropanol, but that didn't change anything. I
moved the gears physically (gently though) with the end of a screwdriver
to make sure the motor wasn't stuck, but when I turned it back on, the
motor moved back far right where it was before. The disc just spins while
the screen says "Just a minute," and even with no disc, it says "Just a
minute" for a good long while before deciding that there is no disc
present, at which point it says "Please Check Disc." I considered opening
it up and fiddling with the potentiometers, but I can't get the security
bits off (damn little hexagon things). I also sent an email to the guy I
bought it from off of eBay, but I think I most likely got suckered, and
it's too late for a fraud complaint. Anyone have any advice? Thanks,
