Hi,
I bought a Super CD-ROM2 (the grey one that matches the Supergrafx
with the 3.0 system bios built in) on eBay over a year ago, but only now
have a PC Engine to test it out with. The unit powers up, but when I try
to start a CD game, the cd spins, the busy light comes on, but the game
does not start. At first I thought that the power supply I was using
might be supplying too little amperage to the unit, so I stepped up from a
1 A power supply to a 1.5 Amp one, but still, nothing loads. Is there any
way to check the alignment of the laser, replace the assembly, etc? I
know that retrogames repairs Duo's, but would they (or anyone else) accept
this unit for repair? Someone on the RIGG board at www.rigg.info said
that he replaced his Duo assembly using commnly available parts so that I
would read CDR's. Can anyone help me with this? Any help would be
greatly appreciated. Thanks,
Vince Scoglietti
