Hey listers,
Just thought I'd bring your attention to a new English translation I made
of a PC Engine game.
http://www.interlog.com/~daves/pce_dev/translt.html
I translated Shaghai HuCard... I know what you're thinking:
(1) That's not such a great version of the game
You're right, but it was a pretty straightforward translation. I've
decided to examine just how difficult translations really are, and this one
was just for practice.
(2) There wasn't even very much Japanese in it.
Hmm... probably more than you think, but you've got a point. Still, it
only took me about a day and a half to do it.
For my next translation or two, I may need a little help on the Japanese side.
I've already got a second one begun, and I've already got a volunteer to
help out with the actual Japanese translations. But if that happens to
fall through, or if I get the itch to start yet another one... are there
any volunteers ?
For now, I've decided not to be too ambitious in terms of total amount of
text... I think there are probably several decent games that could benefit
without a large amount of changes.
Although if somebody really wants to tackle the JPN->ENG side of a large
translation, I might be persuaded to do the rest of it. Some games used
compressed text though (like Ys IV, Far East of Eden, Xanadu, etc.), so
they are not really good candidates.
