Thanks - I am glad you pointed me in the direction of that article... I've
never heard of the website but I've bookmarked it. %^) Ara Shirinian is a
very well-known (and excellent) writer, I've read many of his articles over
the years.
I imagine one reason he wrote that now is because the second Castlevania game
was just released for the Gameboy Advance, and while it's a great game, the
best in the series (IMO) is Dracula-X for the PCE. I have to completely
agree with his comment about the ridiculously high price the game commands,
but that's simple economics... supply & demand.
As for reviewing games years after their time, have you ever read "Digital
Press"? It's a current magazine where you might see a Playstation game
reviewed on one page and an Atari 2600 game reviewed on the next!
Again, thanks for turning me on to that cool website! I'd have to say that
the game's review this long after its release is a legacy to the game
itself... without a doubt, it's the best platformer (either 2-D or 3-D) that
I have ever played, and I'm glad to see that it is still recognized as one of
the all-time greats.
