Well, not to get too economical, but...
1: Considering that most locators in Japan AREN'T Japanese, we've got
bills to pay (college tuition) in our home countries, that now requires
a crapload more yen (25+% from when I first came) so I doubt you'll see
too much fluctuation in dollar/pound prices of Japanese goods sold
online).
2: It takes me up to 680 yen and 2 hours to go get that 10,000 yen game
(it's actually about 13,000 last I checked at Medialand). 2 Hours --
most of us make at least 2500 yen per hour. You only make out if you
buy LOTS of stuff in one trip, which makes your overall risk sky
rocket, which means you have to make your bread & butter on the sure
things (like Dracula X)
3: $1000 a month for rent in a 300 square foot apartment... I think
people can handle paying the $50 or so by not living in the most
expensive city in the world. :)
