My votes go for

1.) Japanese Saturn Pads (The US ones feel kinda flimsy)
2.) Nes MAX

I don't play fighting games too much, so I'm also alright with the
playstation dual shock, which I think has a pretty good configuration.  I
agree that the GameCube controller is really comfortable, even if none of
the buttons are uniform :)  The xbox controller feels awful to me,
although I've heard plenty of mixed reviews. (Mostly bad.)

At the moment I've got this USB>PSX adapter hooked up to my PC, so I've
been using a Dual Shock to play all my emulators with.  It works great
with just about all of them.  On a similar note, I'm thinking about
getting an X-Arcade.  Do any of you guys have one?  I'd like to hear your
opinions on it, and if it works well with Magic Engine.  I'm sure it
works great for MAME which it was basically crafted for.  Take a look
at the site, looks like a pretty quality controller, if you like
joysticks.
