@>Also, in Prince of Persia, I found quite a few scenes/graphics that I never
@>encountered in the course of the game. In addition to the intro/end
@>cinematics, there are also anime-style images of armed men on horseback, a
@>closeup of a princess, a closeup on the feet of a person striding through
@>the desert, a wide shot of a city and palace (not the one from the US
@>ending), the tyrant Jaffar, and others. Also, there were a few photographs
@>of men. I'm assuming the developers. I also found a Riverhill Soft logo
@>(pretty cool looking), and names of other companies.
Interesting.
As a side note (and this is also somewhat interesting....), Prince of
Persia was released under the Riverhill label in Japan, but there is no
trace of Riverhill Soft in the American release. Instead, Hudson Soft is
the publisher in this case - which struck me as a bit weird.
I had expected that there would be certain features in some games, which
were created either solely for the developers' use, or were cut from the
script of the game. Additionally, there could be excess data included by
the developers for personal gratification or by the development kits
without the developers' knowledge.
For example, if you look on Golden Axe, there is a fair bit of good textual
(technical) information about the boot-block system for the PC Engine
CDROM. :-)
I'm assuming it was an accident, but it's good information nonetheless.
@>So, I'm thinking of compiling all this and posting it up on GeoCities, but
@>what would be better I think is if someone who already has a Turbo site
@>wants it. Anyone interested, let me know.
@>
@>Well, I'm off to work on this some more. I'm glad the holidays are almost
@>over. Happy New Year, everyone!
This sounds very cool !
I'm really interested to see what you find !
