The worst PCE game I've ever played has to be "Energy". What
a horrible game! It's got the most pathetic graphics ever; they
look like something I would have drawn in grade 4. And the music is
PURE EVIL!! Whoever composed it apparently didn't have enough of an
attention span to create more than 5 seconds of tinny crap and slap
it into the code. After a few minutes of hearing it, your brain hurts
and you want to pull it out through your ears.
Of course, the music can be turned off, and bad graphics would
be liveable if the game was fun, which it isn't. It's sort of like a
hybrid of Mario and Final Fight; it's a platformer where the game
won't let you go to the next screen without killing everything first.
That's just not fun! The control stinks too.
I used to think that Legion and Deep Blue were awful, but
compared with Energy, they're masterpieces. Legion has a funny
"Engrish" narrator, and Deep Blue at least has funky cover art and
lots of fish. The only redeeming quality of Energy is that the music
will drive away mosquitos.
This could be a cool thread :) We've had plenty of "favourite
PCE games ever" threads, how about the opposite for once?
