CD-Rom2 in all various phases of the different cards means "CD-Rom Rom." And
that is exactly what some of the early CDs have on their spines. The
numerical designations only pertain to the different versions of the system
card itself. There are some odd things here and there with compatibility.
Like was mentioned, Altered Beast will only fully run on a System 1.0
card...will lock up otherwise a little bit into the game. Also, I was able
to pick up Bonanza Brothers for next to nothing here in the U.S. because it
was determined the game was faulty because it wouldn't run on a U.S. Duo. I
have both U.S. and Japanese systems so I can run it fine on my Japanese
system, as it has the System 3.0 software it needs as opposed to the U.S. Duo
(which I believe runs 3.01...could be mistaken...but the point is is that
it's not the required version).
