Implode

Hey List,
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone out there. Well, I can break my silence
about Implode because I finally just got around to ordering it on TZDs
website. Though I won't actually play the game until next week, it doesn't
really matter. I'm into puzzle games and the music which I heard when I d/l a
video of the game from Dark City Productions sounds fantastic. If it's a
genre I like, the control is there (and there is nothing saying otherwise in
this game), and the music is good...hell, it's hard to get games that have
some of the basic things down anymore.
My excuse for taking so long was...honestly...there were still a couple
of Dreamcast games I needed to get, namely, Ikaruga (which seemed as though it
was going to be much tougher to get than even Implode.
I think it would be a shame if Mindrec didn't release another game
though I understand the reasons for Implode possibly being the last release.
I bought this game to support future efforts because I know all things must
start somewhere. Puzzle game seems like a good start. The next logical step
might be a shooter. Of course, WE'D ALL probably like top see an RPG but we
can be realistic as well. They are complicated and they take up so much time
(I'm assuming).
The 250+ copies that had sold as of a few weeks ago should be
encouraging. I think at 500 the game is a record for a game of this type. I
think a next release (assuming it's something which meets a little more
demand) will get better sales. I also think that Mindrec should consider a
further release (again, assuming it's going to be at least as good as Implode)
at a higher price. I SERIOUSLY doubt there is one person among us who owns
the game that paid $20 that would probably not have paid $25 or $30. I would
even have paid more. Btw, for the guy who said taht he was only interested in
legitimate relases....that's a ridiculous statement. There have been many a
Turbo collector trying to get LOCAL GIRLS of HAWAII discs and that set is
completely homebrew.
So, Bt, if you'd like suggestons, give us a choice at least. We don't
want to be unrealistic is asking for something too difficult. I'd be happy
with a souped up puzzle game with cut scenes and stuff like that. I'd be
thrilled with a shooter to add to the great Turbo shump library. I'd be
ecstatic if you did an RPG. But, whatever it is, I'll support it.
