well, there's also the Disc DR. series of cheap, home resurfacers. it
scrapes away the outer-most layer of disc, and you repeat until it evens the
scratches away. i have used one myself, and it works QUITE well. most times
it has taken at least one, and sometimes two passes in order to buff away
the nicks, but it DOES work. 30 bucks for the hand-crank model, and 50 for
the one you plug in.
