I don't know if this is the reason why I liked it but I first came across S=
ide Arms in the arcade whilst getting a tad bored of 1942 and it was the fi=
rst space shooter (yes R-Type didn't reach my arcades until much later) tha=
t blew me away. The two player action and the Transformer style bolt on thi=
ngy was too cool to miss. When it was ported to the PC Engine I couldn't fi=
nd anything different to it (ok I wasn't looking properly but hey I was lik=
e 13) and was absolutely hooked on this shooter. Took me weeks to complete =
it in one credit without any help (there is a cheat for this game??) and al=
though you're right in that the final boss just repeated over and over, to =
be able to complete my first pc engine game was something special. I lent t=
he game to a friend after I finished it and when I got it back from him, I =
dropped the hucard in the streets and had to get a brand new copy from HK i=
n the Summer. How many of you would go to such lengths after completing the=
game and maybe not play it again in the near future?=20
>So, whats the charm? I didn't like the music, or sound effects, I thought =
the graphics were only ok, and I thought the weapons even after being power=
ed up seemed kinda wimpy:). What did I miss, or is it just a matter of diff=
erent tastes? ^_^
