I did this not long ago and can confirm that from the 5 pin din plug, only 4
pins are used. Left and Right audio, Video and Ground.

Pin 1 is Composite Video
Pin 2 is RED audio
Pin 3 is GND
Pin 5 is WHITE audio

This is looking directly into the cable connector for the Japanese Core
system.
