Has Aaron opened a door for us?

Have any of you checked out the Lords of Thunder PC-port at
pcenginefx.com? If not, then you really should cause it's pretty darn
cool. This really has me thinking though...If Aaron has built this
thing from the ground up and essentially copied the look and feel of
Lords of Thunder, then why not see if we can use his build to change
the graphics, backgrounds, and music and make a completely new shooter
out of it? A Lords of Thunder Parody, or an unofficial sequel to the
Thunder series, or a new shooter altogether? I'd like to hear some
commentary on this but, i swear, if anyone here starts saying stuff
like "well, the game engine is property of blah blah blah..." i'll egg
your home! i think if aaron is agreeable to sharing his code, we
should do something with this. so, let's keep this organized and form
three lines: line 1- line up behind me in single file and let's talk about
whether or not this is possible and who's willing to help out or
support such a project. line 2- make this the line of doubters who say it's not possible or
that they'd feel dirty making a Lords based clone cause it wouldn't be
official and just wouldn't feel like a turbo game line 3- all nay-sayers and non-supporters can stand here.
i hope to get some good comments about this but before anyone says
anything, you should really check out the LORDS port at pcenginefx.com.
it's a little rough but surprisingly pretty damn good. regards, george
