1. Dungeon Explorer 2 - I've always been a sucker for solidly built
multiplayer co-op games, and this was by far the best of those in the RPG
genre before PSO went splitscreen. Add to that one of my favorite
soundtracks EVER and outstanding voice work by Working Designs and you have
my favorite Duo CD game.
2. Ys I and II - let's face it... this game almost by itself legitamized the
CD format for console games and paved the way for digital media to take over.
A remake of a 1987 game, the story is still more coherent than what some of
the big RPG companies put out today. Sound Team JDK's tunes always help out,
too.
3. Dracula X - It was hard ranking these three games since I love all of
them so much. This game brought together all of the best elements from old
Castlevania games to make the best game in the series until Konami decided to
turn it into Metroid (that's not a complaint - Symphony of the Night is
another favorite of mine).
