Tengai Makyo ZIRIA prototype footage

I'm sure people have heard about Hudson releasing Tengai Makyo II and III
on PS2 and GC, but there was an interesting surprise at Hudson's Tengai
Makyo Rebirth Festival on the 7th. Hudson showed early prototype footage
of Tengai Makyo ZIRIA for PCE!

Apparently this was what ZIRIA was before it became the game we know on
the PCE. There were two versions shown: "Action Game version" and "Life
sized version". From the footage, it looked like both versions were
still RPGs. However, in the action game version, it looked like the
battle screens where a kind of action fighting. It didn't look very
complicated... they just showed the char moving left and right.

The "Life sized" version seemed to be the same RPG 'cept the characters
were drawn in human proportion instead of the super deformed variety we
were used to seeing the other RPGs (and the other Tengai RPGs).

Although they didn't show much, it did look like they were far in the
production of the game. It makes me wonder how far they really got on III
for PCE before they scrapped that one.

Anyway, here's the web site for the article (in Japanese) and the link to
the movie. You have to register to download movies, so if you can figure
out the registration process (it's free), then you'll be fine.
