Just to add my .2 to his interesting thread....
>There is no good
internet based forum like the Neo-Geo has that gets/keeps people excited
about it (check out neo-geo.com to see a fanatic group....)<
I agree with you on this point - however there are huge differences between
the (majority of the) Neo Geo community and the Turbo community. If you
were into the Neo Geo when it was popular, you were a hard-core gamer (and
"hard-core" in this case equals if you could spend over $200, $300 or more
on a SINGLE game every few weeks.) I've got to known a few friends over the
years that were Geo freaks (and I mean freak in a good way..I also love the
Geo) and I swear they gave up their entire paychecks to getting the latest
Geo cart back in the day. This type of "elite" group I believe is why the
Geo community is still so tight today (not including the fact that the Geo
had a huge arcade presence, larger user base, more well known...etc etc.)
I believe that because of all of those factors, is why the Turbo and Geo
communities are so wildly different. It's always good to see Turbo sites
pop up on the net every so often, but because of the nature of the user
base, we will never be as "tight" as the Geo people.
As for TZD, unless I'm wrong (please correct me...) I'm pretty sure they had
something to do with Lik-Sang's recent stock of Turbo hardware.
Bt, can you give us some kind of update on IMPLODE?
