Re: Item origins

There were two main video tapes. The first was the one that introduced
the Super System 3.0 card adn the SCD format. It had its own packaging
and it:spretty obvious that it was intended for show in stores cause
the program repeats twice on the tape. Anyway, if I remember
correctly, the Duo is not mentioned at all in that video and the kid
who:s playing the games is holding a TG16 controller. I think this was
taped in 1992 and probably was before the Duo was officially announced
by TTI. Anyway, though I was not an original TG16 owner (i got mine
after my Duo), that tape was sent out to registered owners of the
TG16. If you got it from TZD it was years after it was distributed I:m
sure.
The other tape of course is that TTI Lords of Thunder tape which I
always get a kick out of. If I:m not mistaken, that tape was sent out
to Duo Force/ Turbo Play subscribers and perhaps even registered Duo
owners. I remember working at Toys R Us when I got that tape and
showing it to my coworkers who just went crazy when they saw it.
Anyway, I:ve always suspected that those people in that video (at
least one or two of them) worked at TZD or were on this list at some
later point in the Duo:s afterlife...i wonder.
As for the CD, it did have a case with Zonk on the cover and i
believe there was a song list on the back...though i:m not sure about
that cause the songs are also listed on the disc itself. but, it
definitely had a cover in a generic case cause i still have them with
my disc. originally, i think tzd gave those out with a purchase of $50
or more but after a little while of that, they just included them with
most orders i think. i suspect that this discwas originally put
together by tti but when some of the games on that disc were not to be
released (Record of Lodoss War for example) it wound up in TZDs
inventory when they bought up/ took over what was left of Turbo
inventory.
hope that helps, george
