Meteor Blaster DX update (finally).

From Bt Garner <xxxxxx@joyce.eng.yale.edu>
Date
A quick update on the Meteor Blaster DX game. After much
(and I mean MUCH) beta testing, feedback and comments
(plus a few seance sessions, just for good measure), I
am pleased to announce that Meteor Blaster DX has been
sent off to the CD Pressing plant (as of 13:00 today,
EDT).

In the next few days I will get a better idea baout the
actual amount of time it will take to get the CDs back, but
I am expecting it to be shorter than last time (8 weeks, for
Implode), and hopefully closer to half that time.

MindRec.com will be updated in the next few days, with
full information.

(end of the new information).

Now, for thsoe of you wondering: "Just what in the devil is
Meteor Blaster DX?" Well, this part is for you. Meteor Blaster
DX is the SCD version of Meteor Blaster -- an Asteroids clone
for the PCE. MB was released (in a very early form) to several web
sites late last year.

To give a quick run down of what to expect on the MBdx CD (SCD,
really):

  o 99 game levels, 20 separate backgrounds
  o Power ups
  o Boss character
o 4 Game Cinemas: title, opening, ending, credits
o Full CD Audio (17 tracks for MBdx)
o 2 bonus games: Implode Caravan Version and Loop
  o Hidden features / cheats

About the bonus games:

Implode Caravan Version: this is a timed version of Implode.
It was originally made for the Midwest Classic Show (Sept 2002)
and only 3 copies were made. A few small modiifications had to
made for this to fit on the CD, but it's there.

Loop: a new puzzle game for the PCE. This game places tiles
on the screen in a rotating fashion, and your task is to spin
the tiles to make loops (hence the name). The completed loops
are then removed, allowing more pieces to take their place. The
more pieces you remove, the faster the game gets.

I will make an announcement once the CDs are delivered and
available for purchase.
