Wizardry 1 was one of my favorite RPGs at one point but it is not for
the weak of heart. The game is incredibly difficult and I would not
suggest attempting the game without the aid of a hintbook (and I never
use hintbooks). The version that I played did not have a built in
automap feature. The game was released back when people used to map out
the levels with graph paper. But like I said, this is a great RPG, its
just really really hard. Alex
